Framing Britney Spears shines a light on aspects of a culture of misogyny, dehumanizing celebrities, and shaming mental health. The documentary looks at what lead up to Britney ending up in the conservatorship but also points fingers at the industry and culture that created the situation. Since it aired there have been discussions, an apology (?) from Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson on the top of the charts.

Taylor Swift, Evermore, A Trademark Lawsuit, and Dragon Eggs.

Hopefully, the pain of this lawsuit won’t be Evermore. Utah Larping and Fantasy theme park Evermore has sued Taylor Swift and her businesses over the Evermore Album. Evermore Park alleges that the album and the merch are infringing and damaging the Evermore trademarks and that there is a high likelihood of confusion. Taylor Swift’s team through PR and her lawyers have said, no, nope, no way. Her team told Rolling Stone that this lawsuit is a money grab of a failing company embroiled in lawsuits during a pandemic. Can’t wait to hear what you think.

The Girardi Bankruptcy Breakdown

Tom Girardi and his Law Firm Girardi Keese were sued 11 times in 2020 in Los Angles alone. That isn’t counting the Divorce filed by his wife Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Erika Jayne, or the federal case involving the Lion Air disaster. The wave of cases in December 2020 pushed creditors to file an involuntary chapter 7 bankruptcy petition, which was later granted. The Bankruptcy court now has the Sisyphean task of unraveling the accounting and lawsuits as well as the ongoing client matters that Girardi Keese was handling. While all of that was happening Tom Girardi’s brother sought an appointment as a Guardian Ad Lietim in the Bankruptcy Court and sought a conservatorship in the LA Superior Court. On Monday 2-1-21 the conservatorship was granted on a temporary basis.
